We Are iT Festival: The aftermath

The day after it is and we look back on another amazing edition of the festival which is sold out over and over and over, We Are iT Festival. This event by Summer Of Love Events is really one of the best parties. The line-up was filled with legends and amazing new artists. The weather was extremely good, a nice sunny day with 20 degrees. And we saw gorgeous people. Sergio had to open the Summer Of Love Stage which was dubbed Jan Bakker Stage. It was a nice tribute for the man who was always enjoying the music, positive vibes and the whole atmosphere. On this stage Sergio started his set with a short interlude that he made last week for the occasion. ‘It wasn’t planned to do this, but when I was looking at the whole line-up I saw Bart Thimbles and he was really my inspiration to create a short starter to the first track in my set. So I started to work on it on Thursday and finish it on the morning of the Festival.’ It started with the sounds of birds and a little stream. Then some effects like a spaceship that lands on the dance floor to bring the people music. Then came the bits of the first track Welcome 2 Da Club by MD X-press with GTO’s acapella’s of Listen To The Rhythm Flow finisched to interlude and then Welcome 2 Da Club was played completely.

Sergio played his set for one hour and fifteen minutes and it included not many tracks from iT. Instead of that Sergio created an ultimate trip with classics from his own overall journey in house music and nightlife. So it contained also tunes he heard at places like Club ‘71, LaDS, Asta, Nighttown, MTC, Gaultier Parties, Marcanti Plaza, Scala, and Dancs Salon. Really this set was really another kind of trip down memory lane. And a very good one!

DJ Guan said it once so good. He said that Sergio really know what to do and when, so during his said he really can surprise people with a tune the way he mixes the tracks. He added that Sergio is pure and the energy is all about love. And that is a huge compliment. Something that was clear yesterday too, when Sergio started unexpected Moby’s Go the crowd reacted with emotions that touched Sergio. ‘I just spoke with Mila Lanoise who came to listen to my music, she’s an upcoming DJ and she said she almost had to cry when I played that good old track. I hugged her and fold her I felt the same. I felt it too. And it is something beautiful to share.’

With 30 minutes left Sergio started to play the bigger tunes like Satellite and Muzikizum. It was awesome! The energy was set and hyped and he closed this amazing set with tunes like Café Del Mar and Jaguar. The set was closed by the tune that dominates the Dutch House Top 1000 usually and that was Jaydee’s Plastic Dreams. Later on people said that they really enjoyed it a lot that some unexpected classics were heard. We Are iT Festival was again a huge success. And we can’t wait for the next one.
