Since the pandemic in March Sergio Tee started to collect rare items for his incredible Madonna collection. In the last few months he posted his promo CD’s, limited editions and vinyls he got delivered. Two weeks ago he even posted a new display cabinet with some of his collection. These posts caused that a few fans asked if Sergio could create a mix set with Madonna songs.
Last week Sergio started to do some tryouts with songs from the past, some really old songs. But he decided to only make a selection of the best dance tracks. The inspiration was the 1987 remix album You Can Dance. This album contains remixes and is released as a mega mix with all the songs in full length. To put 38 years of music in one mix set it will be a mix set of a few hours least. This is going to be an incredible mix set. Sergio is still working on the selection, but we can confirm that the first part is recorded. On social media Sergio started with the first posts. One with a message with the announcement and some covers from singles and one with a photo with writings of a possible setlist.
This mix set will start with an interlude which is partly the intro of the MDNA Tour version of the song Turn Up The Radio. “I had some ideas of using a radio station because Madonna did use that two times for a tour, The Confessions Tour 2006 (Music Inferno) and the MDNA Tour 2012 (Turn Up The Radio). Yesterday a part of the interlude appeared in stories on Instagram and FaceBook with the hashtag #megaclubmix headlined with “What Are You Looking At?” which refers to the song Vogue.
The first part will be the part with the songs from the 80’s and the 90’s. It’s a huge job to make a great selection of the best dance songs in the first place, but it’s also a lot of work to do the recording sessions. The first hour seems to contain all the early songs like Holiday and Everybody. A release date is not available yet, but we think it will be released after October.
